She believes her hair plays an important role in maintaining the quality of her scenes. It’s such a big deal for her that she once had to stop a shoot altogether after an actor “grabbed a fistful”.This was one of the rare moments in her career where she had to draw a firm boundary.
Evie has since opened up about why her hair holds so much significance for her.
There’s one important rule her colleagues have to followEvie Rees
Evie shared: “My hair is the most ‘me’ part of me asides from how I dress, and it’s my favourite colour after all! It also makes me stand out, and adds to how memorable my brand is.”
She elaborated further: “If you see me at an event, you know it’s me, even from a distance. Half of my hair isn’t real, so the way I style it is very particular, and if it’s pulled/messed up on set it can take ages to fix.”
“After about a year my natural hair grew back, but the added thickness of the hair piece means I don’t have to touch up my roots as often. Just meant I kind of never stopped using it!”Despite her strict rules around her hair, Evie is still open to embracing “rough scenes” in her work. However, when it comes to her hair, she is very protective and ensures it stays exactly as she envisions.
She believes it’s not just about continuity but also about maintaining her image.
