Riley Reid got into the adult film industry in 2010 before taking things in a new direction.
Riley Reid, a well-known figure in the adult film industry, shared insights into why she made the significant decision to cease producing content alongside male co-stars after spending many fruitful years in the sector.
Known in her personal life as Ashley Mathews, Reid stated her journey in the adult entertainment world back in 2010.
Her talents and dedication didn’t go unnoticed, as she went on to win the title of Female Performer of the Year at the XBIZ Awards in 2014.
Her achievements continued to accumulate, leading to her induction into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2021.
Nonetheless, there came a turning point in Reid’s career when she chose to stop her involvement in adult films that featured male actors.
This decision was elaborated upon during her appearance on Jordyn Jones’ podcast titled What They Don’t Tell You.
In a conversation about her dating experiences, Reid expressed the difficulties she faced: “Dating was really hard.”
“Especially as I grew a name for myself, it was hard to meet someone who [didn’t] know who I was. And so, there was always that, like, fandom.”
Reid’s reflections followed her previous revelations on the Impaulsive podcast, where she recounted how a past relationship made her question her self-worth and career choices due to her partner’s negative perceptions of her profession.
“He made me feel like maybe I should quit and stuff,” she disclosed.
“It was a choice I made on my own but I made that choice because I was lonely and I wanted love and affection and stuff,” she explained.
“I’ve dated guys that were like ‘Me or porn?’ and I was like, ‘porn never gave me this ultimatum, so I choose that’,” she firmly stated.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, she praised him, saying, “You’re so present in every moment with both of us and I am so happy to spend everyday with you.”
